The project
We were very happy to be the successful tenderers for the renewal and renovation of the kitchen and bathroom facilities and the renewal of the door and windows at the volunteers hostel at Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.
The existing facility had become quite dilapidated in places and damp was penetrating the shower room through the floor and walls. Once stripped out, we tanked the room before insulating, re-drylining and tiling it to an unrecognisable finish. It was fitted with a new large shower, sliding glass doors, toilet and vanity basin unit. The main bathroom was in better condition but received the full treatment to new sanitary ware, floor and wall tiling, bath screen, vanity unit and redecoration.
The new kitchen benefits from a good selection of quality units, worktop to three sides, re-finished walls and ceiling, redecoration, and the laying of Karndean Limed Oak flooring – great looking and super hard wearing.
The rooms were fitted with LED low energy light fittings fitted with PIR switching and humidity controlled extractor fans.
We renewed twelve windows with good quality UPVC double glazed items and fitted a new half glazed front door.
We are pleased to have secured repeat custom with the Trust and look forward to continuing to work together with them in the future.
